I Was Born For This

I am grateful that God continues to speak to me. No matter where I go, He is there. I visited a different church this Sunday. Can I be honest with you? I do not like missing Sundays at my church home. It can be hit or miss at different churches, and the way my life is set up……I NEED for it to be a hit every time.

Nevertheless, I ventured out. The church opened up with scripture from the Old Testament and then New Testament, and I instantly knew that I was in the right place at the right time. The Old Testament reading was Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Not only are they Tomica’s favorite verses, but they were also confirmation that I need to stay present with the present. And lean on God. Not myself.

After singing, it was time for the sermon. The meat. Would it be feast or famine? We turned to Jeremiah 1:5 and read the following words: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” The sermon was entitled “I Was Born For This.” Definitely time to feast.

See, I have been very transparent with you about my struggle to write these blogs consistently. And as soon as I intentioned it in my heart to power through, the first sermon that I hear lets me know that I was born for this. These are not new words, but they have come at a time when I need encouragement. They have come to let me know I just need to keep trusting in the Lord. And not my own understanding.

So today, I am grateful that I was born for this. I am grateful that God purposed me to put pen to the pad. #wepreach
