Mustard Seed
Faith is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen. Lord knows that I have had some seasons where my faith was lacking. I did not have much hope. There were too many things unseen.
If you had asked me what kept me going…if you wondered what I was holding on to…it could all be summed up with a mustard seed. An almost microscopic portion of faith. It was not much. But it was also all that I needed to make it another second, another minute, another hour, another day.
I am not naïve. I do not believe that there will not ever be another time in life when my faith reserve dips low. But I am grateful that although it may dip low, it never runs out.
Edward Mote wrote these words:
“My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’s name.
On Christ the solid rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand.”
And I wholeheartedly agree. I am so grateful for faith. #wepreach
