A Resurrected Savior
It happened. The stone has been rolled away. The tomb is empty. The angels asked, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here but is risen!” After that quiet Saturday. That dark Saturday when it seemed all hope was lost. It happened! Jesus Christ became our resurrected Savior!
And I’m so thankful! My life would useless without this wonderful gift. I can imagine that Saturday was probably a day full of grief for those left behind. They had walked with Jesus. Broke bread with Him. Talked with Him. Laughed with Him. Ministered with Him. They truly did life with Jesus. So, a life without Him was hopeless. Cursed.
Many people are going through life today without Jesus. Church is too old school for us. We become evolved, and we do Christianity our way. After all, going to church is not the barometer for how saved we are. But how many of us take time out to study our Word and develop intimate relationship with Jesus outside of the church walls? Whether we attend service weekly or not, we can’t rightly claim a Christ that we know nothing about. We sleep on Jesus. Our relationship with Him is dead and closed in behind the stone.
The stone of stubbornness. The stone of pride. The stone of rebellion. We can’t really live because we won’t die to our sin nature. We won’t let Jesus rule and reign in our lives. And it’s a tragedy because He already suffered enough for us. It’s not too late. We can accept Him today. We can start life right now. We don’t have to remain asleep on Jesus.
Those whom Jesus loved and those who loved Jesus had a long Saturday of grief. I’m sure they hugged one another. They consoled one another. And after the exhaustion of the weekend’s events kicked in, they went to sleep.
But early on Sunday while the world was sleeping on Him, Jesus Christ got up from the grave with all power in His hands. He did it for you. He did it for me. He did it so that the entire world could be free. Thank God for our resurrected Savior. #wepreach
