Jeremiah 18 recounts the tale of just one of the many instances that God spoke to Jeremiah, a prophet.  God tells Jeremiah to go down to the potter’s house, and there Jeremiah will hear God’s words.  An interesting thing happens.  Jeremiah goes to the potter’s house and watches him in action.  The potter was making something at the wheel.  Upon closer inspection, Jeremiah could see that it was a vessel.  Ummmmm…something looks off.  The vessel is marred!  No problem for the potter.  The potter takes the clay in his hands and made it into a different vessel.  A vessel that was more suitable.
