Esther 4 opens with a visual and auditory display of grief by Mordecai. Clothes disheveled and face streaked with tears, Mordecai and the entire Jewish population of Persia are overcome with sorrow because they have only eleven months before their planned annihilation. Esther remains isolated in the palace, a queen on her throne, and frighteningly unaware of the very real danger that is awaiting her and her people. We dig into Bible Study Girl’s favorite verse in this chapter and discuss how we react when God presents us with an opportunity to be part of His divine plan. #wepreach
